Barbara and Mark's Engagement Session

Mike and I had a great time working with Barbara and Mark for the engagement session we shot for them at the Dallas Arboretum.

The day was steamy and hot, but Mark and Barbara were amazing.

Kelly and Adam's Spectacular Adolphus Wedding

Kelly, a fabulous New York pottery artist, met her soulmate in a blindingly brilliant epidemiologist fellow New Yorker, Adam. (Both are actually pretty darn brilliant, actually!)
The couple came to Dallas's famed Adolphus Hotel to have one of the most spectacular weddings I've ever witnessed.
Kelly, with her love of art, decided on a vintage styled gown, and jewelry. She made the bride's maid some gorgeous jewelry as well. Her mother crafted a beautiful lace garter as I watched. It as truly lovely. The crowning stroke of genius though, was her "Fascinator" headpeice which she had purchased overseas. (Adam refers to it as the "Bedazzler", and dazzling it was!)
The boquets were as unique and as beautiful as each of the women who carried them. The bride's maids carried stunning balls of orange hued flowers. Kelly walked down the aisle is a fan shaped masterpiece of woven reeds, flowers, and ferns.
Adam likewise looked stunning in his black tux. The groom's people wore the same burst of orange on their lapels.
Herb, a relative of the couple performed the civil service ceremony, which was one of the most beautiful and endearing officiants I've ever witnessed.
The cakes, which were made by the Adolphus, were amazing as well. Kelly's cake mimiced her Fascinator headpeice. Adam's cake was a super yummy looking carrot cake with shaved icing.
They were a definate centerpiece to the incredibly elaborate Century Room, which was also adorned with the same vivid hues of flowers.
The guests flew in from all over the country, and a few from overseas. They were FANTASTIC! Every single person in the room just glowed with love for this terrific couple. And they all partied like rockstars late into the night. They enjoyed the scrumptous several course meal the couple provided (in both carnivore and vegitarian varieties.) However the highlight of the evening was the amazing waltz the couple performed. It was so flowing, so graceful, and ever so romantic.
After the wedding, Adam wisked Kelly off to his surprise honeymoon location. I was sad to see them go, knowing that after the honeymoon, they would be going back to live in New York. I wished they lived nearer, because they are such special people, you just want to be around them.
As for the vendors, all of them were absolutely amazing, and I simply MUST mention them all here:
Rachel Collins from LaLique Salon did the amazing hairstyle that Kelly had.
Mami (pronounced Mah-mee) from Botanical Art Designs did the to die for floral designs.
The cakes, as mentioned, were made from the Adolphus. I'm pretty sure people were licking the plates.
Richard McClure, owner of A Very Special Day (and also a wonderful friend) kept the party hopping all night with his fabulous music. (I overheard the father of the bride raving to him about how INCREDIBLE and GREAT a job he did).
The Pianist, Michael Reed who did a beautiful job of playing the piano as the bride and groom walked down the aisle.
Enjoy the photos. There are a ton of them, but they are but a small sampling of this truly inpiring and ever so spectacular wedding:
