Jennifer and Eric's Engagement Photos at Las Colinas Canals

Jennifer and Eric are fun, happy, young, and gorgeous! We LOVED working with them, and look forward to all our future shoots together. Our new team member JD Cooper, joined us on the shoot and everything went really well.
The couple are fans of local rockstar photographer, KJ (aren't we all!) and some of the following shots were inspired by his fantastic work.
We were joined by both the Moms who had a great time chatting, and catching up on all the wedding stuff.
Jennifer and Eric were game for anything, and it was such a joy to work with both of them. They were full of smiles, sweetness, and both look like a cross between supermodels/fitness models. How can you go wrong????
This is only a very small sampling of the photographs they recieved, and just photos I thought were super fun. But actually, I love all the photos. Such a wonderful couple!

Craig and Elizabeth's Wedding

We met Craig and Elizabeth the day before their wedding! The couple, both in the information and technology field met by chance in Georgia, and hit it off. Craig, who collects classic BMW, and is a talented woodworker, and furniture crafter in his spare time, fell hard for the Texas girl who played Piano for her local church in Canton. Craig proposed on Feb 14th in a beautiful vinyard in Northern California, and Elizabeth happily said yes. The wedding was held at Elizabeth's Catholic church in Canton, with a beautiful reception that followed at the local Rock High Ranch. It was a perfect fall day. Elizabeth surprised Craig with a BMW logo groom's cake, surrounded by "sharks". (His favorite car). They both surprised the young ladies at the wedding by giving them their very own miniture bridal bouquets. And then they made their escape in Craig's beloved Turbo 7 Shark, and returned to Michigan. We'll miss them! Congratulations Craig and Elizabeth!

New Portrait Site will be up soon

Wow! I had no idea how many people wanted to take advantage of our free portait shoots! It's full now, and the shoots have been going glowingly thank goodness!
Thanks to everyone who wanted to participate. Hopefully we all benefited. I learned lots about toddlers, and the participants got shots they will love for a lifetime.

So as of now, the free family shoots have to come to an end. I have gone way over my target of 10. Actually it's more like 30, but hey, I just love working with families.

I don't want to worry all you wonderful people still on the books who haven't been shot yet. We are still going to do it. And hopefully you are going to love it.

I'll post the new family portrait gallery soon, and the pricing for such services as soon as I catch up a little around here. Like I said, the response for the free portraits was much more than I expected. I'm still playing catch up!

Half way there on 2009!

Just in case I have any blog watchers who know that they want to use us for their wedding, but haven't yet booked........there has been a huge influx in the last two weeks of 2009 bookings. In fact, we are halfway to our 2009 limit.
Please check in soon to see if your date is still available. And if it is, and you need to meet with us, you probably need to do it very soon. If this trend keeps up, we should be booked fully for 2009 by the end of December 2008.

Andie's Bridals

How huge are this girls eyes? She is soooooo pretty. We did her bridals at the Thistle Hill Mansion, and I have to say I was captivated with her amazing eyes and smiles. Her man, is one lucky man indeed.

We shot their wedding last night, and all the details will follow soon. What a beautiful couple! S0 much in love......

Stefanie is a treasure. She’s one of those amazing brides who knows what she wants out of life, and she’s not afraid to take it.
Dwayne, is much the same way. He’s a go-getter. Together….Watch out World!
Not to say they don’t have their “softy sides”. They do. Both of them. Stefanie is a school teacher, and to watch her around children is amazing. Dwayne has a natural and genuine love for almost everyone. And the biggest, sweetest smile you’ve ever seen.
Two great people.
They got married at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, which is mind blowing in it’s beauty. You are instantly met with the aroma of sandalwood incense, and the magnificent murals.
As is custom in a Greek Orthodox Wedding, the bride and groom are crowned three times, and walk around the altar three times as well before they are officially married.
Beautiful chants and songs ring out through the cathedral.
Guests also enjoyed the grounds for the reception venue. The dessert menu featured every delicacy a person could ever want. Stefanie and Dwayne had a really cool idea for a guest book as well. They had guests sign bottles of wine, which they would later enjoy at various anniversaries.
Hurricane Ivan didn’t stop them during their big get away featuring streamers.
You’ll see more of the two of them soon, as I’m going to be doing some boudoir stuff for Stefanie, and some family picks for the two of them.
Congratulations Stefanie and Dwayne!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chelsea, Mack, and Jack....a day at the park

One of our all time favorite wedding couples (families actually), took advantage of our all new portrait services. It was a JOY to see them all again. We hooked up at the Dallas Arboretum, where little Jack was promised a trip to the zoo if he smiled big for the camera. (He got his trip to the zoo, btw....he was a little angel). We took some photos for the Grandparents for Halloween, and snuck in a few non pumpkin shots for Christmas cards and gifts for the family. We also found out that Chelsea, a newspaper reporter and photographer, has set off on her own course of professional, non newspaper, form of photography. She showed me some boudoir shots that she took that were awesome! You go girl!

Blake and Adam's Wedding at the Hickory Street Annex

Adam has about the coolest job ever….he takes people to Greece and Italy to do archeology tours. It works out perfectly because the lovely Blake loves travel. She is currently studying floral design, and you can tell by the beautiful floral choices below, that she is very talented in the field.
Blake and Adam wanted their wedding to be as unique as their relationship, so they chose Hickory Street Annex as their ultra urban ceremony and reception venue.
For those of you not familiar with it’s history, it was once the Gulf Oil Distribution Center of North Texas. Now, it’s a terrific open venue surrounded by artist’s studios.
Blake and Adam decided on a muted fall pallet of teal, olive, and rust. The bridesmaid’s wore the most beautiful dresses of these hues. Each table was done in one variation the selected colors.
The guests had a wonderful time. The minister was Adam’s father, David. (we were honored to work with the family once before for Adam’s brother’s wedding). It’s always so special when a wedding is conducted by such a loved family member.
And the party was crazy fun! Adam’s Mom is Greek, and so some wild Greek Wedding Dancing began. Unfortunately I was in the middle of the spinning circle when the dishes started flying. I heard a “crash” just before a remnant of a plate flew into the lens of my 35 mm 1.4. Ugg! (Just as a testament to what a great lens it is though, it survived!!! Yay!!!) I needless to say, got out of the circle in a hurry.
Here’s a first you guys….Adam and Blake win the contest for the all time “different” exit. They used “bubble wrap”. Yep that stuff you squeeze between your fingers……After crushing out some good “pops” the guests used the spent wrap to throw at the couple.
Congrats Adam and Blake on your beautiful and joyful life together!!!!!

Kate and Casey's Wedding

The bubbly Kate married her true love Casey at First United Methodist Church on a cool and overcast day. Kate who has a mad crush on everything pink, incorporated the color in everything from her shoes to her flowers to her cake. Her mother even hand embroidered Kate and Casey's names and the wedding date into Kate's petty skirts. In pink of course. And the readers at the ceremony read from Kate's pink Bible. Just shortly into the ceremony, all the lights were lowered, and Kate and Casey lit candles for all the guests, and continued with their wedding lit solely in candlelight. It was so beautiful and moving, that the minister actually forgot to announce that the couple could kiss at the conclusion. (No worries, they spent all evening kissing each other). The reception was held at the historical YWCA next door to the church. Kate and Casey enticed guests with a desert buffet featuring chocolate strawberries, assorted candies, ice creams, and banana's foster. All were served with lemonade. Pink lemonade of course. In pink sugar rimmed glasses. Forgoing the usual groom's cake, Casey opted for assorted pies. Everyone in attendance got the sugar rush of their lives!

Kate's Bridals

Kate is softspoken, and a total sweetheart. Not to mention super pretty.

Here are some of her bridal photos:

Jones Family Portraits

Hollie and Chad are some of our alltime favorite wedding couples ever. (Hollie is the star of our opening page).
Well, they have added a new and super cute addition to their family, the beautiful baby Chloe! We spent a beautiful fall morning at the Dallas Arboretum, where we hung out in the pumpkin patch, and tried on Chloe's Halloween Costume and played amongst the ferns and ponds. Ever seen a cuter mermaid???? Ever?!

A warning about Sample Albums

Hi faithful readers!

An unfortunate new trend has popped up lately. SOME photographers are showing "Sample Albums" that are just that. Samples from the album distributor. The photos in the album are not the images that the photographer actually captured. MOST photographers will show you the actual photographer sample. Sadly, some are showing deceptive album distribution samples.

If you are unsure if you are seeing a "distributor sample" or an actual "photographer sample", just ask the photographer to see the original photographs that went into the album design. If the photographer actually took the photos, they should be readily available.

Better safe than bewildered. :-)
